Brett and I had fun traveling through some north-central backcountry yesterday. Planned as a "snow run," it morphed into more. The snow near Stoneman Lake was hard, icy, and deep. Travel was limited, and when we tried to get into lower areas it was icy and muddy. Eventually we decided to head for Sedona and run a couple trails! It was a great mixture of snow, mud, crawling

We took a neat road southerly, looking for slightly lower elevations
and eventually make it through to Wet Beaver Creek. Along the way we
played at an old cinder pit area.

Once we got to Sedona we ran Broken Arrow which was fun as usual.

Then we tried for the Oak Creek Homestead trail. I say tried because it took a few attempts to find it and then it took a few tries to finish it. Now I can say I know where it is and what route to take once your own the trail! It was a pretty neat trail, fairly scenic and ending at the creek, that I think has climbed in difficulty do to weathering. There were definitely sections of crawling going on... a solid 3.0 to 3.5 (or put another way, as difficult as BA was).

Excellent trip, no issues, great time! And I picked up my elk antlers
